Better Comments With Reply
for Jira Data Center
Introduction
​
This app/add-on for Jira Data Center features threaded comments with reply functionality for issues in Jira.
​
When installed, the functionality is there on the standard issue view pages, and also on the issue view in Kanban/Scrum board pages.
​
A reply button shows on comments next to the Edit-Delete-Pin buttons.
​
Installation
​
This is done through the Jira Apps section. Search for "Better Comments With Reply" and install. If you cannot find it, please contact us.
​
Setup
​
The functionality has to be enabled on a project basis. Look in the Apps section of Jira. A "Better Comments" menu item is found the left side menu. Click it. ​ Now you can select which projects to enable the comments for. Or simply choose all projects. ​ ​ ​

Limitations
​​
1. Comments are not shown threaded in the Service Management portal area.
​
2. Since users can apply visibility, some other users may not be able to see the right thread structure, if they miss access. In this case a text "(reply to missing comment)" is shown.​ ​
